Welcome to the Official Website of the San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District.  The District was formed in 1956 to construct, operate, maintain and plan flood control, water supply, drainage and groundwater recharge projects in order to protect life, property, and health of San Joaquin County residents and ensure the economic, environmental and social viability of our community.  The San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors serves as the governing board for the District.  The District is staffed by the San Joaquin County Department of Public Works.

The San Joaquin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District Releases Fall 2007 Groundwater Report

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Releases

Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps

On January, 16, 2008, FEMA released preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRMs) for San Joaquin County that are currently undergoing the County's review.  For information on the availability and viewing of the preliminary FIRMs, please visit www.sjgov.org/pubworks/firmpanels.htm.

San Joaquin County Opposes the Development of a Peripheral Canal

On September 18, 2007, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution

R-07-534, which reaffirmed San Joaquin County's position opposing the peripheral canal or any isolated water conveyance facility that would bypass the Delta.
