San Joaquin County Reaffirms Opposition to Development of a Peripheral Canal

The County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution R-08-269 in May 2008, detailing the County's opposition to the Delta Vision Blue Ribbon Task Force Recommendations for the Sacramento-San Joaquin River Delta.  Recommendations include the development of a peripheral canal and/or an isolated water conveyance facility.  Furthermore, the Board of Supervisors soon followed with the adoption of Resolution R-08-363 in June 2008, which outlines the County's coalition with the Counties of Contra Costa, Sacramento, Solano, and Yolo to convey mutual interests surrounding the management of the Sacramento-San Joaquin and greater Bay/Delta Estuary.

On September 18, 2007, the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution R-07-534, which reaffirmed San Joaquin County's position opposing the peripheral canal or any isolated water conveyance facility that would bypass the Delta.
